The Dacia Spring EV, an affordable electric vehicle with a range of up to 190 miles, is set to launch in the UK in 2024. However, it will arrive in the form of an upgraded facelifted version. Since its introduction in 2021, the Spring has gained popularity, with over 120,000 orders placed and contributing to a 6.8% increase in Dacia’s global sales in 2022.
The Spring has been frequently purchased as a second car within households, but for 90% of multiple-vehicle households, it serves as the primary means of transportation during the week. When it enters the UK market, the Spring will be the most affordable electric vehicle, undercutting the current cheapest option, the Smart EQ Fortwo. Although the price may rise slightly, it will still be a compelling choice for potential electric car buyers.
Luke Broad, Dacia’s Brand Director for the UK, expressed excitement about the Spring’s arrival, emphasizing its value, usability, and realistic approach to electric vehicle ownership. The facelifted version of the Spring is expected to retain the core characteristics of the current model while receiving updates to its light signatures, wheel designs, color options, and interior materials.
The eagerly anticipated Dacia Spring EV’s introduction in the UK is poised to make a significant impact on the market. With its impressive range, affordability, and enhanced features, it aims to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles while adhering to Dacia’s values of value, practicality, and durability. The Spring’s debut in the UK is set to redefine electric car ownership and propel Dacia to new heights in sustainable mobility.
